British experts discover new untouched caves in Quang Binh

According to Dinh Tien Dung, vice chairman of the Tuyen Hoa district administration, on March 24 an expedition of the British Royal Cave Association conducted a survey of limestone mountains in Lam Hoa commune where they discovered a pristine cave system. Running for a total length of 3,349m, the caves also feature underground rivers which are completely pristine. They have duly been named Hung Tru 1, Hung Tru 2, Hung Tru 3, Hung Ka Vong 1, and Hung Ka Vong 2. The British experts will continue to make use of boats and other support tools to delve further into the caves in the near future, Dung revealed. British explorers have a history of helping to investigate many caves in Quang Binh province, known as the nation’s kingdom of caves. Unique style of Red Dao traditional outfits

One of the groups is the Dao ethnic minority people who reside, for the most part, in the mountainous northern provinces of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Lang Son. The Red Dao are a subgroup of the Dao people, renowned for their colourful traditional costumes that leave an indelible impression on visitors. Tuyen Quang is home to nearly 91,000 Dao people from nine different subgroups, with the Red Dao people living mostly in the districts of Na Hang and Lam Binh. For the Red Dao, the way they dress symbolises their ethnicity and distinguishes them from others. They are easily identifiable by the predominance of red in their clothing as the colour is believed to bring luck, happiness, prosperity and positive energy to everybody.
