1,000+ Vietnamese Women Unite in Dance Ensemble to Celebrate International Women’s Day

The event, organized by the Dong Ha City Women’s Union, was held to commemorate the 114th anniversary of International Women’s Day and the 1,984th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) Uprising.

In addition, the program aimed to honor the value of ao dai and encourage the preservation and promotion of Vietnamese cultural heritage.

Pham Thi Thu Ha, chairwoman of the Dong Ha City Women’s Union, stated that through this event, a house worth VND60 million (US$2,400), 20 bicycles, and 1,000 ao dai were donated to disadvantaged women in the city.

“The event fostered a love for ao dai among women in Quang Tri Province, especially in Dong Ha City,” she emphasized.

“The fondness for ao dai reflects a strong sense of patriotism.”

Furthermore, the inclusion of folk dances depicting daily life served as a motivating factor for women to participate in sports activities and engage in regular exercise, contributing to their overall health improvement, as Ha explained.

Local resident Luong Thi Dieu Ngan, who participated in the ao dai performance, expressed her immense pride in the Vietnamese ao dai.

“I will wear ao dai for many other occasions,” she added.
