The Lotus Blooms: A Festival Unveiled in the Historic Hue Imperial City



The festival featured a fashion show with ‘Ao Dai’ traditional long dresses designed by local artist Viet Bao, culinary demonstrations of Hue lotus specialties by chef Mai Thi Tra, and vegetarian cuisine from An Nhien restaurant’s head chef.

Nguyen Van Phuc, director of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial Department of Tourism, spoke at the opening ceremony, highlighting the festival’s goal to honor the Hue lotus and introduce its culinary delights to a wide audience, including international guests.


Delegates and tourists enjoyed tasting a variety of dishes at the festival’s food booths.


The festival is envisioned to become an annual event, enhancing the local tourism industry and adding a unique attraction to the Hue Festival in the years to come.
